Stafford Co. sheriff’s deputy strikes, kills man in roadway

A man was struck and killed by a Stafford County Sheriff deputy overnight Thursday.

According to a release, the deputy was headed eastbound on Garrisonville Road just after midnight when he struck the 44-year-old-man, who was crossing the roadway at Center Street, authorities said.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office said the man died at the scene.

The deputy was treated for minor injuries.

An investigation into the incident continues.

Stafford Co. homecoming game ends with three arrests

A homecoming game between Stafford High School and Mountain View High School in Virginia ended in three arrests and a medical emergency for a school staff member, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's department. "A beautiful evening for the Stafford High School homecoming football game ended with a disturbance and charges for several people," the department said in a statement.
