7,000 Northern Virginia residents without power, Dominion Energy says

An outage has left over 2,000 people without power in Northern Virginia on Sunday night, Dominion Energy said.

As many as 12,000 outages were reported Sunday.

A Dominion Energy spokeswoman said high winds caused the outages.

Fairfax County and the City of Fairfax initially reported more than 11,000 outages. Prince William County initially reported 600 people without power, and more than 300 outages were initially reported in Loudoun County.

Police identify 59-year-old Fairfax Co. pedestrian struck and killed by Metrobus

A 59-year-old man who died after a Metrobus struck him while he was crossing a street in Bailey's Crossroads on Sunday night has been identified. The Fairfax County Police Department identified the man Tuesday as Adam Ali, 59, of Idylwood.
