4 dead in 3 Prince George’s Co. shootings; 2 critically injured

Police in Prince George’s County, Maryland, are investigating three separate shootings in proximity to each other that left four people dead and two critically injured.

The first incident happened on Village Green Drive near Barlowe Road in Palmer Park before 10:50 p.m. Friday night.

Police said officers found three women at the scene with gunshot wounds. One woman was pronounced dead while another died at a hospital. A third woman was also taken to a hospital with critical injuries.

Later on, another shooting occurred about a mile away at Ryderwood Court, near Martin Luther King Jr. Highway in Landover around midnight. Police said officers arrived to find an adult man with gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.

A third shooting occurred early Saturday morning around 3:25 a.m. in Chillum, at 22nd place near Woodberry Street. Police said officers found a woman and a man inside a van with gunshot wounds. The man was pronounced dead and the woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Police said the shootings are being investigated as separate incidents, but they are checking on any connections among them.

Woman critically injured in domestic shooting in Bowie; suspect in custody

A woman is in critical condition after a shooting inside a Bowie, Maryland, home Thursday, police said. A caller reported the shooting at about 4:20 p.m., police said. Bowie police officers and Prince George’s County Fire and EMS went to the 8500 block of Myrtle Avenue and found a woman in a bedroom with a gunshot wound to her upper body. The first responders provided lifesaving care before she was taken to a hospital in critical condition, Bowie Deputy Police Chief Robert Liberati said during a briefing. Police arrested a suspect at the scene and found a weapon believed to have been used in the shooting. According to the police, the suspect and victim were in a romantic relationship.
