Some roads in downtown Silver Spring, Maryland, were closed Saturday afternoon when a water main break flooded several city streets. Montgomery County police advised anyone traveling in the area to watch for traffic control direction around Georgia Avenue and Colesville Road, which is where the break occurred. The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission told WTOP that the break in the 36-inch pipe occurred around noon, and initially estimated repair time at several hours. At 6 a.m. Sunday, WSSC tweeted that the main had been patched and crews were working to restore the roadway.
