Police investigate shooting on Towson University campus

TOWSON, Md. (AP) — Baltimore County police said three people were shot Saturday morning on the campus of Towson University. The department said the shooting was an isolated incident involving a group that had gathered at the center of campus near academic buildings. Towson University confirmed the shooting and said it is working with police in response. The school said counseling and support services will be available for students.

Police said the shooting investigation affected a road race. The Charles Street 12 mile run was rerouted due to the police activity.

Gusty thunderstorms could kick off Thursday afternoon in DC region

Showers and thunderstorms packing strong winds could blow through parts of the D.C. region Thursday afternoon and evening. A cloudy, sticky Thursday could set the stage for another round of summertime storms. "We do have a risk for severe weather and also flooding," 7News First Alert Meteorologist Eileen Whelan said. Urban areas are especially at risk of flash flooding, according to the National Weather Service. The highest risk is near and northeast of Baltimore, Maryland.
