Two people are dead following a crash in Bailey’s Crossroads, Virginia, early Sunday.
Fairfax County police said a single vehicle was involved in the crash, which happened on Carlin Springs Road near Columbia Pike around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
Police confirmed one fatality in a tweet Sunday morning; on Sunday afternoon, they said the passenger, Maria Crowder, 29, of Maryland, died at the scene, while the driver, Byron Hines, 28, of Maryland, died later at a hospital.
The police said the car was headed north on Carlin Springs Road when it crossed into the southbound traffic lane, then sharply veered right, going off the road and hitting a tree.
