Southeast DC fire sends 2 to hospital

One man was critically injured and a woman seriously hurt after a fire in an apartment building in Southeast D.C. Wednesday night.

It happened around 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of Congress and 13th Street Southeast in the Congress Heights neighborhood. D.C. Fire and EMS said the fire started on the third floor of the apartment building. Eight people could not go back to their apartments. .
