2 separate DC shootings leave 1 dead, another wounded

WASHINGTON — One person is dead and another is wounded after two separate shootings throughout D.C. Friday morning.

A shooting in Northeast that happened around 4 a.m. near the intersection of 4th and Adams Streets left one man dead.

Another man was shot in Southeast, around the 3200 block of 4th Street. Police say the man was conscious and breathing.

Police are looking for a silver sedan connected to the incident.

Eric Slavin, the newspaper’s editor-in-chief, was fired Friday. Stars and Stripes publisher Max Lederer and Middle East reporter Lara Korte also lost their jobs. "It was quite a shock," Slavin told WTOP's Ralph Fox. "It's not what I expected when I woke up on Friday, but really concerns are more for our service members and our families and what may lay ahead."
