Power outages reported in Northeast DC

WASHINGTON — A large number of power outages were reported in Northeast D.C. Sunday morning.

As of 8:30 a.m., Pepco was reporting 2,000 outages in the Brookland and Fort Lincoln neighborhoods of Northeast D.C., the area along Rhode Island Avenue near South Dakota Avenue. Traffic lights in the area may be dark.

Crews have been dispatched for repairs, Pepco said.

‘My concerns are more for our service members’: Former Stars and Stripes editor on his and other firings

"It was quite a shock," Slavin told WTOP's Ralph Fox. "It's not what I expected when I woke up on Friday, but really concerns are more for our service members and our families and what may lay ahead."
