Kasper re-elected president of world ski body

BARCELONA, Spain (AP) — Gian Franco Kasper of Switzerland has been re-elected unopposed as president of the International Ski Federation.

FIS says the Swiss official was given a standing ovation on being given a fifth term by delegates at the governing body’s two-yearly congress.

Kasper, an International Olympic Committee member, has led FIS since 1998.

The 70-year-old Kasper previously served as the governing body’s secretary general since 1975.
