Alexandria police activate two new red light cameras

WASHINGTON — Drivers in Alexandria may want to watch their speed, as police have added two new red light cameras.

The cameras will capture still images and video of red-light violations.

There is currently a warning period through June 30. Warning notices will be sent to the vehicle’s registered owner.

Fines will begin July 1.

The cameras are located at the following two intersections:

  • South Patrick Street and Gibbon Street (westbound lanes)
  • Duke Street and South Walker Street (westbound lanes)
