Silver Spring man sentenced to 5 years in fatal Rockville crash

ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) — A Silver Spring man has been sentenced to five years in prison for a head-on collision in Rockville that left a woman dead.

The Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office said in a news release that 35-year-old Juan Francisco Diana pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter. He was sentenced Tuesday and was also ordered to have an ignition interlock installed in his car.

Prosecutors say on May 31, 2015, Diana crossed the double yellow line on Muncaster Mill Road in Rockville. Authorities say Diana’s car crashed head-on with a car driven by 50-year-old Diane Corrao of Gaithersburg. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Prosecutors say Diana’s level of intoxication was .10.
