1 dead after I-295 crash

WASHINGTON — One person is dead after a crash late Sunday night on Interstate 295 in Southeast D.C.

It happened around 10:45 p.m.

D.C. police say the two-vehicle crash in the southbound lanes killed one and sent another person to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation closed I-295 between Malcolm X Avenue and Suitland Parkway until 6 a.m.
