Indoor skydiving outfit iFly expanding to Washington market

WASHINGTON – Executives at iFly, an operator of vertical wind tunnels simulating the skydiving experience, are on the hunt for two to three locations in the Washington area and have set their sights on National Harbor, The Washington Post reports.

Company founder Alan Metni said he had inquired about other properties developed by The Peterson Cos., such as Fairfax Corner, but that Peterson executives “were real keen on having us go to National Harbor.” IFly, which could open its first location here as early as 2013, has 23 indoor skydiving facilities worldwide.
