Browns hire Aaron Glenn as assistant DBs coach

CLEVELAND (AP) — The Browns have hired former NFL cornerback Aaron Glenn as an assistant defensive backs coach.

Glenn was a first-round draft pick in 1994 by the New York Jets out of Texas A&M. He started 176 games during his career with New York, Houston, Dallas, Jacksonville and New Orleans.

Glenn had 41 career interceptions, returning six for touchdowns.

First-year Browns coach Mike Pettine says Glenn “fits the mold of what we are looking for to lead our players.”

This will be Glenn’s first season as a pro coach. He spent the previous two years in the Jets’ front office, serving as a college area scout in 2013 after one season as a pro personnel scout.
