Early morning crash halts traffic on Inner Loop of I-495

WASHINGTON – An early morning crash on Saturday, June 18, halted traffic on the Inner Loop of Interstate 495 prior to Persimmon Tree Lane.

At around 1:45 a.m., troopers responded to the scene where a International Truck Tractor operated by Daniel Coffrin of Church Road, Virginia, struck a 1999 Honda Civic, operated by Samantha Faye Justice of Hope Mills, North Carolina.

Justice was trying to to accelerate into traffic from the left shoulder when the truck hit her vehicle. She suffered serious injuries and was transported to Suburban Hospital in Bethesda.
