Portion of building collapses in Northwest D.C.

WASHINGTON — A portion of a building collapsed Friday afternoon in Northwest D.C.

The second floor of the building, on the 400 block of K Street, collapsed onto the first floor around 3 p.m.

There are no reports of injuries, according to Tim Wilson, a spokesman for D.C. Fire and EMS.

Wilson says they aren’t sure whether or not anyone was inside the building at the time of the collapse, noting that two nearby buildings may also be affected.

A nearby strip club — The Cloakroom – was evacuated, NBC 4 reports.

Omama Altaleb contributed to this report.
