Hit-and-run seriously injures bicyclist

WASHINGTON – A bicyclist is in serious condition after he was hit by a car near Union Station Thursday night.

D.C. police say the man was struck near the intersection of H and 3rd streets NE about 10 p.m. The car was a dark gray sedan and left the scene.

Anyone with information about the hit-and-run is asked to call police.

The rider was using a Capital Bikeshare bike at the time. There are no bike lanes where the rider was hit.

Capital Bikeshare tells WTOP riders have been involved in crashes on their bikes before, but none this serious.
