For 85 years, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington has been a trusted place people in need can go for help, inspiration and hope for a better future, all while being treated with dignity. We provide assistance for immediate needs and empower people toward self-sufficiency. Families, children and adults who are most vulnerable in our community have been able to turn to Catholic Charities to find comprehensive, caring and competent support. Last year, our more than 65- plus programs working in 48 locations across the District of Columbia and the five surrounding Maryland counties served more than 116,000 men, women and children of all economic, religious and social backgrounds. Every night we provide more than 1,800 beds to those who are homeless, including an extra 250 beds on the coldest nights. We helped more than 14,000 people receive medical, dental and mental health care. We provided more than 5.5 million meals. We connected more than 4,400 low-income people with an attorney to seek justice. We serve everyone who comes to our doors because our work changes lives, creates opportunity, ends isolation, inspires hope and builds futures for those who need it most. Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington remains committed to the poor, especially the homeless, immigrant newcomers at-risk, those who need employment and persons with mental illness or developmental disabilities. We will help individuals and families move from crisis and isolation to stability and growth and lead them on a path to future success.
