Police: Md. man pulls rifle after road rage dispute

WASHINGTON – A case of road rage escalated quickly when police say a Gaithersburg man pointed a rifle at another driver.

Kenneth Johnson was arrested this week on charges of first- and second-degree assault. Police say Johnson and the other driver were traveling on Sam Eig Highway when they began arguing.

Johnson then pulled a rifle from the backseat of his car and held it up during the dispute. Johnson left the scene after the other driver called 911, giving police Johnson’s license plate number and the description of his red Honda.

He has been released on $5,000 bond.
