NBA tells James to change mask; he appeals

WASHINGTON — The NBA’s LeBron James’ has a new look on the court but it could soon become old, according to ESPN.

James has been wearing a black carbon-fiber mask to protect his broken nose. But the league requests James change to a more traditional clear mask when the Miami Heat host the Orlando Magic on Saturday night.

James appealed the decision and is still trying to get clearance to wear the black mask. He has been sourced as saying he prefers it because it it light and he likes the style (it matches the Heat’s black uniforms).

However, reports say James is preparing to use a clear mask Saturday.
