WASHINGTON – The recent snow and cold may be part of winter’s last gasp.

Sunday will be mostly clear and chilly, with temperatures in the upper 30s before dropping back into the teens and lower 20s Sunday night and Monday morning.

Monday looks similar to Sunday, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the upper 30s, but there’s a chance for snow again Monday night.

“With the jet stream heading north and warm air poised to move in, the snow could turn into a wintry mix in the early hours of Tuesday morning. A conversion to all rain and eventually to a mostly sunny afternoon with highs near 50 Tuesday will spell the end of our long siege of winter weather,” says ABC7’s Doug Hill.

Looking ahead, high temperatures Wednesday through Saturday should be in the upper 50s and even in the lower 60s in some areas.
