Loudoun County Police investigating domestic-related homicide

WASHINGTON — An Ashburn man is in custody after a domestic-related homicide in the Ashburn Village community on Jan. 15.

The suspect — Minh D. Nguyen, 38 — entered a residence around 9:30 p.m. in the 44200 block of Sonora Lane and shot a man inside the townhouse, according to Loudoun County Police. The suspect was taken into custody without incident at the scene.

Inside the home were two children. The suspect’s ex-wife and another child returned home as the incident unfolded. No one else was injured and there is currently no threat to the community.

Nguyen is charged with first-degree murder and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He’s being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond.

The investigation continues and more details may be released as they become available.
