Police: Md. man dunked cat in toilet to correct its behavior

ABERDEEN, Md. (AP) — A Maryland man has been charged with animal cruelty after police say punished his cat by dunking it underwater in a toilet and a bathtub.

Aberdeen police said in a news release that 62-year-old Albert R. Knox was arrested after officers responded to a call from a concerned citizen on Tuesday night.

Police say they found the cat “soaked, wounded and disoriented.”

Authorities say Knox told investigators that he had dunked the cat in order to correct behavioral issues.

Knox faces two charges of animal cruelty and aggravated cruelty to an animal. The 1-year-old cat was taken by the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Unit for an emergency evaluation.
