WASHINGTON – A viral video of a dad shooting his daughter’s laptop after she posted something he found unfair about him on her Facebook page has ignited a debate about how to properly parent in the digital age.

Tommy Jordan posted the video on Wednesday to YouTube, along with this message on his Facebook wall.

“Today was probably the most disappointing day of my life as a father and I don’t know how to correct the situation. Since I can’t seem to make any headway with my daughter on Facebook, I chose instead to remedy the problem permanently.”

The Facebook posting has received more than 25-thousand comments — many of them are supportive, many of them are not.
