Va. teacher arrested for allegedly touching a student

WASHINGTON — A Springfield, Virginia teacher has been arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault and battery in connection with an incident in a Fairfax County public school.

Eric D. Pittelkau, 64, was arrested Friday afternoon. On Dec. 18, he allegedly touched a 16-year-old female student in an inappropriate manner.

Pittelkau turned himself in Friday around 5 p.m. and was served with a summons releasable warrant. Pittelkau is a teacher with Fairfax County Public Schools.

Super Pet Expo offers its first in-person event in Virginia since pandemic began

A Virginia pet expo running through Sunday is hoping to help those who recently got new pets to find what they need. Eric Udler, producer of the Super Pet Expo at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, said that there has been a significant increase in pets being adopted with so many people working from home.
