Man strikes nephew with blunt object in Arlington

WASHINGTON – A man struck his nephew in the head with a blunt object Monday morning, after a verbal dispute in Arlington, Va., according to police.

The victim was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital for treatment to a large head laceration after police received a call at 11:40 a.m. from a neighbor.

Arlington Now reports the assault took place in the Douglas Park neighborhood, near the intersection of 16th Street S. and Glebe Road.

The suspect was taken into custody after surrendering to the incident on-scene.
