3 hurt in facade collapse at D.C. hotel

WASHINGTON — Three people are injured after a facade collapse at a Northwest D.C. hotel Thursday.

The collapse of  a front part of the building occurred around 12:45 p.m. at the construction site of the Savoy Suites Hotel, located at 2505 Wisconsin Ave. in Northwest D.C.

Three workers were injured in the collapse and have been transported to the hospital. Two people have critical injuries and one person has serious injuries.

Earlier, D.C. Fire & EMS spokesman Tim Wilson said two people may have been trapped in the collapse.

It is not yet clear what caused the collapse or the extent of the damage.
