WASHINGTON — Denard Span may be a San Francisco Giant now, but he says he’ll remember his time with the Nationals fondly.

In a series of tweets Friday, the former Nats outfielder says, “From the bottom of my heart I wanna say thank you for an amazing 3 years.

“I came to DC at the right time in my career and you guys took me in with much love and I’ll forever be grateful for that. DC will always feel like home no matter [what, so even] though I’m ecstatic about my new journey this is a bit bittersweet. #thankyou for the love and the many memories! #spanningout.”

Span will turn 32 next month and suffered several injuries last season, but batted .301 with 5 homers, 22 RBIs and a .365 on-base percentage in 61 games in 2015 with the Nats.

He signed a $31 million, three-year deal with the Giants on Thursday.
