Alley’s Jenny Craig commercial reunites some ‘Cheers’ characters

WASHINGTON — A new commercial has reunited some of the old “Cheers” gang.

The Jenny Craig ad features client and former “Cheers” star Kirstie Alley, as well as John Ratzenberger and George Wendt in their familiar end-of-the-bar roles as Cliff Clavin and Norm Peterson, respectively.

Alley makes a big entrance to applause, and the two men compliment her looks.

The Clavin character remarks, “Last time I saw a woman like you, I was –“

“Dreaming,” Peterson interrupts.

“I was dreaming,” Clavin agrees.

Alley promptly credits the Jenny Craig plan — “50 pounds down” — and, while serving the men beer, explains the benefits of the program; Clavin then closes the commercial with a reference all “Cheers” fans will recognize.
