WASHINGTON — The Coast Guard on Saturday called off its search for a man who fell off a sailboat at Sandy Point State Park.

[related_gallery align=”right”]Multiple agencies have been searching for Stephen Reynolds, 48, since Thursday night, when a woman called 911 from the boat to report that Reynolds had fallen overboard.

Maryland Natural Resources police say that Reynolds, who lived on the boat, had left the Baltimore Marine Center and was headed south, down the Chesapeake Bay, when he decided to anchor for the evening just above the Bay Bridge. He was with Kathleen Prior, the woman who called 911. They were trying to bring the sails down when Reynolds fell overboard.

Anne Arundel and Maryland Natural Resources police are still searching for Reynolds.

Meanwhile, the body of another person was found in the Chester River.

In separate incident, David Dupree Jr., 31, of Chestertown, was reported missing on Monday, police said.

His body was recovered on New Year’s Day, Maryland Natural Resources Police spokeswoman Candy Thomson said.

A couple out walking made the macabre discovery near High Street in Chestertown, close to where Dupree lived.
