M Street bike lane continues on path as political hot potato

The multiyear plan to build a new District-wide bicycle lane separated from traffic continues on the path of a political struggle for Mayor Vincent Gray and a prominent downtown church, The Washington Post reports.

Part of the lane opened last year, but the one stretch between 15th and 16th Street near Metropolitan AME and the church parking battle will handle a new dimension of hard-nosed politics.
