Woman robbed, stabbed in Lakeforest Mall parking lot

WASHINGTON — Police still looking for the person who robbed and stabbed a 63-year-old woman outside Lakeforest Mall in Gaithersburg, Maryland on Thursday.

The woman was hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries suffered during the attack.

Police said the incident happened at around 1:30 p.m. in the parking lot outside of Macy’s. The woman was near her vehicle when she was confronted by the robber. Police say the robber pushed the woman into her car and stabbed her multiple times after demanding money.

Police said the robber then fled the parking lot of the mall, which is located at 701 Russell Ave.

A vague description was given for the perpetrator: A 5-foot, 5-inch tall Hispanic male who weighs between 150 and 180 pounds. Police said the robber was wearing a dark blue hoodie at the time of the attack.

Detectives are urging anyone who may have information to contact the Montgomery County police’s 6th District Investigative Section at 240-773-5770. For those who wish to remain anonymous, Crime Solvers of Montgomery County is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for any information that leads to an arrest.
