(NEW YORK) — New EU standards for diesel car emissions has been rejected by the European Parliament’s environment committee, reports BBC News.
The committee argued that the standards were not strict enough. The standards would allow diesel cars to continue exceeding the highest level set by lab tests.
The EU decided to reassess its testing procedures of diesel emissions as a result of the Volkswagen scandal, says the BBC.
