2 deadly shootings investigated in Prince George’s County

WASHINGTON — Police are investigating two deadly shootings Monday night in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

According to Prince George’s County police, officers were called to the 5000 block of 53rd Place, between Farragut and Emerson streets in Hyattsville, around 9:15 p.m. When police arrived, they found a man who had been shot.

The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.

Around the same time, officers responded to the 9900 block of Good Luck Road, near Greenbelt Road, in Glendale for a separate shooting. There, police found a man with gunshot wounds.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police say the shooting does not appear to have been random.

Both shootings remain under investigation, and no suspect information has been released at this time.
