WASHINGTON – If you love free food, there are several big giveaways going on around the region Wednesday.

Two of them involve lots and lots of cakey, creamy cupcakes.

Crumbs Bake Shop is celebrating the grand opening of two new locations in the District.

The first 1,000 customers to visit each new shop get a free cupcake, starting at 12 p.m.

One new location is at 470 L’Enfant Plaza, the other is at 1107 19th St., NW.

And, a New-York style pizza shop called Fuel Pizza opens its doors at 12 p.m. at 16th and K Streets Northwest. The first 50 people in line get free food for a year.
