WASHINGTON – Credit card fraud is a major problem, but now smarter credit cards are taking a bite out of that particular crime.
A company called Dynamics Inc. is making a credit card that doubles as a flexible mini computer.
The New York Times reports one version is tailored toward big businesses that need tighter security.
Just press a personal unlock combination and the credit card number appears. Is it magic? No, the card’s magnetic strip contains all the account information.
When the card turns off, the numbers go away and the magnetic stripe erases. This way if the card is stolen, the thief can’t see the full credit card number or swipe the card to buy anything.
