Airplane intercepted over D.C. Friday morning

WASHINGTON – A Coast Guard helicopter intercepted a general aviation aircraft over Washington, D.C. Friday morning, at the direction of NORAD.

The Cessna aircraft, which had been out of communications in the Flight Restriction Zone over D.C., was intercepted, identified and landed at Potomac Airfield without incident.

The pilot was directed to contact FAA for further direction.
