Teen suffers life-threatening injuries in Silver Spring hit-and-run

WASHINGTON — Police are asking for help after a teen suffers life-threatening injuries in a hit-and-run accident in Silver Spring, Maryland Monday night.

The Montgomery County Police Department says the driver struck Quasim Shinar Williams, 17, of Silver Spring as he was crossing U.S. 29/Columbia Pike near Tech Road.

Police believe the driver was behind the wheel of a dark gray Honda sport utility vehicle, possibly a dark gray Honda Pilot. The vehicle is missing its passenger side mirror and has front end damage.

Williams is in serious condition. Montgomery County police officers passing the intersection while investigating an unrelatd matter found Williams near the road around 10:20 p.m.

The driver who struck Williams was traveling northbound on Columbia Pike, police say.

 

Anyone who saw the collision or who has information about the vehicle involved is asked to call police at 301-279-8000.
