Beer of the Week: Heavy Seas Brewery

Brennan Haselton, wtop.com

WASHINGTON – Instead of Happy New Year, we say Happy New BEER on WTOP’s Beer of the Week. Actually, we should say BEERS of the Week.

Greg Engert, beer director for the Neighborhood Restaurant Group, owner of such restaurants as ChurchKey, Rustico and The Evening Star Cafe, introduces us to not one but two barley wine style beers from Baltimore-based Heavy Seas Brewery.

If you like bourbon or wine, you might find these beers to be a harmonious union that your senses will celebrate.

And, in fact, several more local beer makers will be featured in Beer of the Week segments over the next few weeks.
