Finally, jeans designed to show off those expensive sneakers

WASHINGTON — For “sneakerheads” willing to pay $400 for a limited edition Air Jordan 1 Pinnacle “Vachetta tan” basketball shoe,  just getting the Nike sneaker is just the beginning — the next challenge is how to show it off.

The challenge was one Jerry Seinfeld never seemed to master during his television years.  His vast collection of expensive sneakers — mostly white with brightly colored accents — were often paired with blue and black jeans that looked, well, nerdy.

Websites have been devoted to awesome sneakers ruined by awful jeans.

Search Twitter for #NTjeans (NT = no thanks) and you’ll find pictures of sneaker/jean offenders.

Well, crowdfunding is underway to develop Sneakerjeans , which its maker says is “created for sneakerheads.”

The prototypes of Sneakerjeans have what appears to be a partially-elasticized band near the ankle, so the denim does’t drape over the expensive those $650 Air Max Lebron VII kicks.

In its Kickstarter campaign, early contributions of $99 will get a pair of Sneakerjeans hand-numbered and signed by the founder. Eventually, the pants are expected to retail for $219.
