Man charged with injuring officer in Frederick

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — Frederick police say a man has been charged with resisting arrest and injuring an officer during an arrest for an open-container violation.

Police say 54-year-old Brian Lewis was arrested Friday afternoon after officers were called to a report of alcohol and drug use in Carroll Creek Linear Park.

Police say Lewis screamed profanities and banged on the glass window of a business. Police say he then struggled with the officer who tried to arrest him. The officer suffered minor injuries to his hands and was treated on the scene.

Police say after Lewis was arrested, he was found to be in possession of synthetic drugs.

Possible human remains found in a shallow grave in Frederick Co.

WASHINGTON — The Frederick County Sheriff's Office says they have found what appears to be human remains buried in a shallow grave close to Gambrill State Park. The apparent grave was found by a hiker on Thursday evening off Gambrill Park Road just north of Coxey Brown Road in a wooded area. Officers secured the area overnight and processed the scene on Friday morning.
