WASHINGTON — One day isn’t enough to celebrate rarest of hair colors in The Netherlands — they need three.

Friday marks the beginning of Redhead Days in the town of Berda. “Roodharigen,” as it’s called in Dutch,  is a festival that runs from Sept. 4-6.

“For all redheads; men, women and children! Curly, spikey, quiff or crest; everybody who has red hair is more than welcome,” the festival’s website reads.

“Of course, this day is also unforgettable for non-redheads. So don`t hesitate to bring your partner, children, parents and other fans! And don`t forget your camera!”

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the festival. This year’s theme will be Vincent Van Gogh, celebrating the 125th anniversary of the Dutch redhead’s death. Around 6,000 redheads and 40,000 people attended last year, coming from 85 different countries for the event.

There will be over 50 activities over the three days, ranging from art exhibits to redhead “speedmeet,” where redheads looking for good conversation with other redheads spend 5 minutes talking to each person before moving on to the next. And, of course, a pub crawl.
