Disabled Amtrak train causes delays along Northeast Corridor

WASHINGTON — A disabled Amtrak train caused delays Thursday night along the Northeast Corridor.

Around 4 p.m., the Crescent number 19 train experienced engine troubles, leaving the train stuck on the tracks just before it reached the BWI station.

The train from New York City was set to arrive in D.C. at 5:55 p.m., but the arrival was delayed about four hours. According to Amtrak’s website, the train arrived in D.C. before 10 p.m.

An Amtrak spokeswoman says about 20 Amtrak trains were impacted, and MTA says some Marc trains were also delayed as a result.

Amtrak says customers can contact customer service to discuss a possible refund or voucher for a future trip.
