NORFOLK, Va. (AP) _ A Norfolk man faces up to 128 years in prison following his conviction on charges stemming from a tax refund scheme.

U.S. Attorney Dana J. Boente’s office says 53-year-old Ronald Chisholm is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 9.

A federal jury convicted Chisholm on Tuesday on charges of conspiracy, mail fraud and aggravated identity theft.

Chisholm had pleaded guilty on Oct. 6, 2014, but later withdrew his plea.

According to court documents and evidence, Chisholm and unidentified co-conspirators filed at least 810 fraudulent tax returns and received more than $2 million in refunds. The returns contained personal identifying information stolen from numerous people.
