Road repairs completed after Bethesda water main break

UPDATE (12 a.m. 7/30/2015):  WASHINGTON -- Bradley Boulevard in Bethesda has reopened after repairs were made to the road. On Tuesday night, WSSC said repairs were completed on a 16-inch water main break. PREVIOUS:

WASHINGTON — Twenty-five customers are without service after a water main break in Bethesda on Monday night that has also closed a nearby road. The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission says that Bradley Boulevard, which is closed between Rayburn Road and Aberdeen Road, will remain closed through the Tuesday-evening rush hour. The water main break happened in the 5900 block of Bradley Boulevard, near Aberdeen Road. WSSC says repairs are currently underway on the 61-year-old water main. “There’s a gas line that runs in the middle of the excavation site, so it’s a little tedious – we need to work around that gas line, so it’s slowing the overall speed of the repairs,” said Lyn Riggins, with WSSC.

Riggins said it was too early to estimate exactly when the road will reopen.
