Canadian robot hitchhikes across America

WASHINGTON — There is a robot for everything. Now, there is one that hitchhikes. HitchBOT, the humanoid robot, is tweeting its journey to San Francisco from Massachusetts. So far the robot — the creation of two Canadian researchers — has watched a Red Sox game and has been out to sea. The last time WTOP checked, it was in New York City and took its first ride on a subway train.

The robot is immobile and depends on strangers to move it around. Previously, the robot took 26 days to travel across Canada.

Democratic Sen. Tammy Duckworth, a U.S. Army veteran who lost both of her legs while serving in Iraq, rebuked Tucker Carlson after the conservative Fox News host attacked her on Monday night and suggested that she hates America. "Does @TuckerCarlson want to walk a mile in my legs and then tell me whether or not I love America?" Duckworth wrote on Twitter.
