24-year-old Arlington man dies following NW D.C. crash

WASHINGTON — A 24-year-old Arlington man has died days after a crash in Northwest D.C.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the crash happened around 3:20 a.m. on Sunday at the intersection of 16th and Madison streets in Northwest Washington.

Police say an Acura sedan was traveling at a high rate of speed on 16th Street NW when the driver lost control, struck the median, went into the opposite lanes and hit a Volvo sedan.

Police say Matthew Roth was driving the Volvo. He was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, but was pronounced dead on Tuesday.

The driver of the Acura and a passenger were taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
