WASHINGTON – Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III goes under the knife today to repair damage to a knee that this year carried the team out of mediocrity and into the playoffs for the first time since 2007.

Wednesday morning, RG3 thanked his fans for their support on Twitter and appeared to be looking at his surgery with a positive attitude.

Thank you for your prayers and support. I love God, my family, my team, the fans, & I love this game. See you guys next season.
