Metro Red Line riders might rethink their Saturday plans

WASHINGTON — Heads up for Red Line riders: Metro has a construction project that will result in no train service between Farragut North and the NoMa Gallaudet stations on Saturday beginning 12:01 a.m.

Buses will be used instead to replace those trains.

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority website offers information on the alternate shuttle bus service.

However,  if you are heading to the National Mall or  Union Station to catch an Amtrak or Marc train from  Montgomery County, there are a few options:

  • plan for extra time to catch a bus
  • take a cab
  • use a car service or just drive into town.

The weekend construction project only affects Red Line trains between the mentioned stations and regular service should resume Sunday.
